Latest Makeup Haul

I'm sure you'll know by now that I have a makeup addiction. I'd spend all my money on makeup if I could. I love how you can accentuate your features, be creative with it, and create so many different looks with it. Recently, I went to Boots to buy presents, naturally I had to treat myself as well.

I've heard quite a lot about the Thick and Fast Mascara by Soap and Glory, so I thought I would give this one a go. I love how it gives your eyelashes so much volume without being clumpy. This is an all around good mascara creating length, volume and definition.

I also purchased the Soap and Glory Glow all out Highlight and Sculpt Cheek Stick in Ice Shimmer. This is such a natural highlight. It isn't glittery at all. The colour is great for this time of year- giving an icy glow. It's very easy to blend and melts into the skin nicely.

From Revlon I purchased the Photoready Insta-fix Highlighting stick in the shade Gold Light. This is slightly less unnatural than the Soap and Glory one. It contains small flecks of glitter. It blends really nicely and is so easy to apply in stick form. It gives a lovely luminous gold glow to the cheekbones. However,I have quite a few similar to this so I'll be giving this one away!

I couldn't resist adding the Revlon Nail Enamel in the shade Vixen into my basket. It's a gorgeous deep plum colour, which I thought would be great for this time of year. Being a student nurse I rarely get to wear nail varnish, so when I finally get to wear it it excites me very much. I love having painted nails. This one dried reasonably quick and has a nice shiny finish.

Also, from Revlon I purchased the Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade Sassy Mauve. This is a pinky-brown shade, perfect for all year round. It's very similar to MAC's Twig.  It feels creamy and moisturising on the lips, and is pretty long-lasting as well.

I also purchased the Soap and Glory sexy Motherpucker in the shade Plumble. I haven't used one of these for years so I thought I would try them again! These are lip plumping glosses. I've got such skinny lips so every little helps. These feel really uncomfortable for about half an hour or so, they tingle your lips while plumping. These plump ever so slightly, without looking fake. I got a deep pink shade which would go with pretty much any makeup look.

The last product I purchased was the Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit in the Medium Brown shade. After testing this out it is a bit too light for my eyebrows so I'll be giving this one away. It's a nice little kit though with an eyebrow powder, wax, spoolie and double ended brush. This would be really handy for travelling.

December Glossybox

This months Glossybox came with 5 full size items and although the box wasn't as good as last months one, the products were still pretty good!

This month subscribers got to choose whether they got a nude lipstick, or a berry one, and the box contents are based around the colour chosen.

I actually chose the nude lipstick, however, I got sent the berry shade. This is the MDM Flow Semi-matte lipstick in Vamp. I'm not complaining though as this is such a beautiful lipstick! It's a matte one, it's highly pigmented and doesn't feel too drying on the lips. It looks lovely in the gold packaging, and lasts a long time on the lips. This one is worth £18.

I also received a Lipcote. I used to borrow this off of my mum when I was little. It does make lipstick last longer, however, it does sting like a bitch for a while after you've applied it! This is such a handy thing to own though, especially for those lipsticks that have no staying-power at all.

To complement the lipstick, I received the Revlon Nail Enamel in Valentine. This is such a lovely colour for this time of year. It really complements the lipstick as both are very similar colours. This one dries pretty quickly and I think I could have easily got away with wearing one coat of it.
Another product that came in the box was the Collection Define and Perfect Eyebrow Powder. This one is worth £4.19. I was actually really impressed with this powder. It applies really well with the tipped brush and fills my brows in nicely. It has a slight bit of fall out to begin with, so I usually dab the brush on the back of my hand first before I apply it to my face. Strangely enough it's a really close shade to my eyebrow colour as well!

The last item in the box to complement the look is the Essence Light up your face Luminizer Palette. I love the Essence brand, the products are so so cheap and are of such good quality. These three powders are so lovely. I love the very left powder for creating a really subtle highlighted look. This one doesn't contain any shimmer like the other two but still gives you a lovely glow.

Also, just to mention, I received this box free! This is from completing reviews on previous boxes. From doing so you earn points to cash in for a free box!

High-end and Drugstore Makeup Haul

I seem to have been gathering a lot of make-up at the moment, with all the sales that have been going on I just couldn't help myself. I absolutely love purchasing make-up, it makes me super happy having new products to try out!

I made a few cheeky Debenhams purchases a few weeks ago. Mainly because I really wanted to try the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator out. It just looks so pretty! I love extra highlighter in the winter to add some life to my skin. I purchased it in the shade Gilded Honey. It did not disappoint, it's such a beautiful product. Firstly, it looks absolutely stunning in the packaging. The product blends really well, and isn't an overly glittery highlight. It is a really deep gold colour, my favourite shade of highlighter.

As I was purchasing the Laura Geller Illuminator, I thought I would purchase a couple other bits. One of them was the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. I've heard a lot of good things about this eyeliner. I only own a Nars eyeliner that is a high-end liner, so I thought it would be nice to have another. The brush end of the eyeliner is one that I haven't seen before. This one doesn't have a felt tip end like others, it has fibers, and is similar to a lip liner brush. This eyeliner stays in place all day, it's super easy to apply, and doesn't smudge at all.

The last product I purchased from Debenhams was the trusty Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This is my third tube of this and I will forever repurchase it. It's such a good product for keeping your eyeshadow in place, not letting it crease, and helping eyeshadow to look a more vibrant colour. I love the applicator of this one, my old one is in a squeezy tube, so this one is much nicer to apply, and saves some of the product.

Beauty Bay recently had a 30% off sale, so I took full advantage and purchased some skin-care and make-up items. I purchased the LA Girl PRO Concealer. I purchased this one in the second lightest shade. I'm so impressed with how well this actually conceals, considering I bought it for about £2. I love the brush applicator and how well it blends. This is more for blemishes as the shade is pretty dark and is probably too much of a thick consistency for the under eye area.

I also purchased two Spectrum make-up brushes. I got the precision crease brush, and the large fluffy shader brush. I have lots of eyeshadow brushes, I keep buying them mainly because I'm too lazy to wash them so regularly, so having a lot is essential- haha. The crease brush is a little flatter than I would have liked, so I will probably use this as a shader brush. Both are extremely soft and good all round eyeshadow brushes.

From the drugstore I recently picked up two of the Rimmel lipsticks. I purchased them on different occasions and funnily enough they are VERY similar shades. The one on the left is one of the new The Only Matte Lipsticks in the shade Leader of the Pink. It's a lovely light pink shade. The one thing I will say about these lipsticks is that they have a funny smell, almost like a hair dye smell, which puts me off a little bit. They are very matte however, without being drying.

I also purchased a Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade 101. This is a slightly lighter pink than the matte one. It's a very creamy and moisturising lipstick. I really enjoy using the Kate Moss lipsticks as they are such good value for money.

Also from Rimmel I purchased the Magnif'Eyes Eye Conturing Palette. These are a pretty new release and this one is the Grunge Glamour Palette. These shadows are really pigmented and creamy. They blend in really well, and don't have a lot of fallout. The shades in this palette are really lovely for creating a smoky look. I don't have a palette too similar to this one, and it was such a bargain at £7.99.

The last thing I purchased from Rimmel was the Scandaleyes Reloaded mascara. I really didn't need another mascara, but I can't deny myself a new drugstore release that looked this good. The brush is huuggeee. This is a really volumising mascara that doesn't clump and smudge on the under eye area. It's not as lengthening as I would have liked but still a really good drugstore mascara.

Lastly, I purchased the Ardell Demi Wispies eyelashes. These are just my favourite pair of lashes ever. They are so fluttery, apply really easily, the strip is the perfect length for my eyes, and they look as natural as fake eyelashes can look!

Top-Bottom= 3x shades from the Rimmel Magnifeyes palette, Laura Geller Illuminator in Gilded Honey, Rimmel The Only Matte Lipstick in Leader of the Pink, Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 101.

Winter Lush Haul

I love a good Lush haul. I originally went into Lush to buy Christmas presents, but I can never buy something without buying myself something too...

I purchased three of the bath bombs. The first is the Northern Lights Bath Bomb. The bomb looks AMAZING in the bath, with shades of purple, yellow and blue flowing around the bath- just like the northern lights. This one has a musky scent and is more for a night time bath. It has a deep sensual smell of ylang ylang and jasmine.

The next bath bomb is the Never Mind the Ballistics Bath bomb. This is a sweet one- it smells divine. The scents are of orange, lime and bananas; a really fruity one. It's a good one for a morning bath, to wake you up. This one is pink and yellow, leaving a brightly coloured bath. The pink side is more of an oil that leaves your skin feeling extra soft.

Finally, the Lava Lamp Bath Bomb. This one smells of orange sherbet which I loved! I love the sweet scents. The three purple orbs are made of cocoa butter and they look like the orbs in a lava lamp. When the orbs melt they leave a moisturising layer of oil. This one left my skin feeling so moisturised thanks to the extra oils. However, it was a total nightmare to clean off of the bathtub sides!

I'm always up for buying products that make me feel relaxed and ready for sleep (not that I'm not always feeling ready for sleep). So when I saw the Sleepy Body Lotion I had to purchase it.
The smell is mostly of Lavender and oatmeal. The lotion is rich, creamy and leaves skin feeling soft. It's a lovely calming lotion for Winter evenings.

I also purchased the Rose Jam Shower Gel. I always repurchase this one as it smells amazing, like Turkish delight. It has a subtle deep floral scent, with hints of rose, vanilla and lemon. The smell lingers on the skin out of the shower and is great paired with the Charity Pot body lotion. The gel lathers well and leaves skin feeling soft.

I always pick up the Charity Pot from Lush. It's an all round good moisturiser. 100% of the profit goes to small charities that Lush work with so I'm more than happy to keep repurchasing. The lotion is a rich cream and has scents of Rose and Shea butter. It has a really relaxing and comforting scent and sinks in nicely.

November Glossybox

This months box was pretty impressive. The boxes have been really good the last few months. It came with 5 full size items! I loved the variety in this box and it even came with  chocolate!

The first item is a set of three Wilkinson Sword Quattro Raspberry Rain Razors. These alone are worth £5.69 so I was impressed to see these in the box. This is hands down the best razor I have used. The razors have four blades and they shave off every single hair. The soft gel part on the razor has lasted a long time, it hasn't decided to crumble off like other razors after the first few uses! The raspberry scented handle is also a nice touch.

Another product is the Ruby Large Tapered Blending Brush. This is worth £8. I absolutely love it when they include brushes in the boxes. Mainly because I'm too lazy to wash my existing brushes. haha. I've been using this one as a crease brush to blend the darker eyeshadow into the crease of my eye. It's such a lovely brush, it's really soft, has no fallout, and blends really well.

The 111Skin Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment mask came in this months box. It is worth a whopping £20! Now, I would NEVER repurchase this and pay that for a single sheet mask, but this was a nice treat from the box. It didn't irritate my sensitive skin, which is always a good thing. It really did hydrate my skin and leave it feeling lovely and soft. The mask was so huge, it kept sliding off my face. However, that could have been because I have a bit of a pea head...

Another product is the De Bruyere Beaute Jumbo Eye Pencil in Bubble 07. This one is worth £15. I absolutely love eyeshadow crayons! They are so quick to use, and this blends out great with the Ruby Tapered Brush. It's a lovely light copper colour, with a slight shimmer to it. It blends out really well and only creased at the end of the day!

The last product is the Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes. These were a little tricky to apply, and the glue took such a long time to dry. I would use the Eyelure glue next time! These are nice lashes for an everyday use but the lashes I usually use are a lot more dramatic than these. They have a good length band and I didn't need to trim these ones. These are worth £4.95.

I was really impressed with this month's box, it's worth a total of  £53.64!

Tanya Burr's Autumn Collection

I'm a little late writing this blog post. A lot late actually. I've been so busy with my new placement, university assignments and general life that I have neglected my blog! I've got lots of posts lined up though as I've been pretty spendy recently! (oops)

The new Tanya Burr Autumn collection looked so fabulous that I had to try out a few bits. The packaging is so beautiful! The collection is composed of 6 lipstick shades, 3 cheek illuminator shades, a body illuminator, face illuminator and a Midnight Smoulder eyeshadow palette.

Firstly, I picked up the Forever Cheek Illuminator. This is a pinky-toned highlighter. Out of the three this is the one I would use most. It provides a really glowy finish. There are no glitter particles or anything like that in it, just a really nice sheen. The texture is really creamy, It blends nicely and is super easy to apply in the stick form. This one is really lovely for a cheekbone highlight. It was £6.99.

I also picked up the Face Illuminator. This one was £7.49, a little goes a really long way with this product, so it's great value for money. This is really similar to the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer. It provides an amazing base. It adds a lot of glow to your base. Foundation applies really well on top of this. It's a little tricky to dispense as it has a pump but the product is in a tube, so sometimes the product doesn't pump out. It also smells like cocoa butter.

Out of the 6 lipsticks I chose Birthday Cake. This was the one I felt I would get the most wear out of. It's a light pink. This one is really Similar to Mac's Creme Cup. It glides on nicely and leaves a nice shine to your lips. The lipstick has really good pigmentation as well as being super hydrating. These are £6.99.

Lastly, I purchased the Midnight Smoulder Eyeshadow Palette. This was £5.99 and was such a bargain. All of Tanya's palettes are pigmented but this one is SUPER pigmented. The shadows are such good quality. I love the quad shadow palettes she comes out with as they are super handy and are so reasonably priced. This one is really good for a wintery evening look. They blend really well and the packaging is so pretty.

Swatches Bottom-Top = Forever Summer Cheek Illuminator, Lipstick in Birthday Pink, Star Gazing Shadow, Endless Sky Shadow, Midnight Navy Shadow, Into the Night Shadow.

I absolutely love this range. Good job Tanya. The products are such good quality for money and the packaging is stunning!

October Glossybox

This contents of this month's box were chosen by Youtuber Essie Lalonde. It contains 4 full size products and one miniature product. There's also an extra mystery product in this months box! I was really impressed with this months box and love each and every product!

The first Item in the box is the Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait in Exotic Fruits. Firstly, the packaging of this product is adorable. I love the card packaging with the cute fruit images and the gold tube inside. The formula is very light and hydrating. The colour looks like a very light pink. However when you apply it it is so light that it looks like you have applied foundation to your lips! I was probably most disappointed by this product as it simply looks lovely.

The next product is the Universal Beauty Cosmetics Secret Flush Soothing Cream Blusher and Lip Stain Duo. It is worth £15.00! This is such a lovely product! It's a lovely colour for this time of year. As a blush I was surprised at how well it blended. It's really build-able and gives a lovely rosy glow to your cheeks. I also really like using it as a lip colour. It's really creamy and fairly pigmented with a lovely sheen. This is a handbag essential!

Another product in the box was the Rituals Ritual of Sakura Magic Touch Body Cream. This is worth £6.00. I already have the Rituals Ritual of Sakura Shower Foam that has this scent and I love it. It smells so relaxing and calming. It's quite a thick moisturiser but it sinks in pretty quickly. The smell lingers on your skin for a long time.  It feels really soothing and hydrating on skin.

The Bee Good Honey and Camelina Facial Exfoliator was also included in this months box. I've tried things from this brand before and loved them, and this one didn't disappoint! It smells quite herbal and relaxing. It doesn't have as many beads in it as I usually like but I like a really harsh facial scrub. After use it it leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft. I'm going through a bit of a break out at the moment so I'm hoping this will help de-congest any clogged pores! This is worth £10.50.

Another product is the PS PRO Longwear Lip Liner Pen from the Primark Beauty range. It's in the shade Red Carpet Red. This is worth £3.00. I was so surprised by this product! The colour is a lovely deep red. I've never used a lip liner that's like a felt tipbefore, but it applied so precisely and didn't bleed at all. A real staple product for Autumn. I can't wait to try out other products from the range!

The last product was a mystery shampoo. It's a bestselling shampoo that has recently had an update. I have a feeling it's a new Head and Shoulders Shampoo as it smells very similar to one I'm currently using!  It's a really handy travel size!

I've slowly been gathering items for my Autumn wardrobe. The weather is changing pretty fast and I threw out a lot of last years warmer clothes, so I had to get some more! I love layering in Autumn to keep on trend and warm at the same time! Here's what I got:

I really like high necked tops, so I stocked up on a few for winter. I love plain tops underneath dungarees, pinafores or thick skirts in the winter. I also purchased an Adidas long sleeve top for lazy days!

My favourite 5 eyeshadow palettes

Eyeshadow is something I absolutely love. I love the smokey eye look with winged liner. I tend to buy more eyeshadow palettes than individual eyeshadows just for the convenience. Buying a palette means you always have shades that go together, and it's more convenient for travelling. I have a mixture of high end and drugstore palettes.

My first favourite is the Too Faced Boudoir eyeshadow palette. I've had this for a few years now and I always go back to it. I love how they shades are in rows of three to create three looks. I usually always wear the bottom row for a night out, it creates an amazing dark smoky eye. The shadows in this palette are so pigmented and blend really well. The palette contains a mixture of matte, satin and glittery shades. This one is £29.

A drugstore favourite is the Wet 'n' Wild Comfort Zone eyeshadow palette. This one was a bargain at £7 off of Amazon! The shades in this palette are SO pigmented and of really amazing quality. The palette creates two looks. One is a greeny look and the other creates a berry-toned eye. Both look amazing. The shades blend really well, they are quite glittery but I like that anyway!

Another drug store palette I love is the Tanya Burr Enchanted Dream palette. This is a quad of three plum shades and a champagne colour. This palette is £5.99. Bargain. The colours aren't as pigmented as I would like them to be but what do you expect at £5.99 for three shades? There are two matte shades and two satin shades. I love the colours in this palette and I don't have any similar to these! he packaging is also super pretty.

The Morphe 35T palette is another of my faves. This is such a perfect Autumnal palette. You can create so many different bronze, berry, and grey shaded looks. There are a mixture of matte, satin and glittery shadows. They are all super pigmented and blend really well. This palette is such good value for money at £19.50!

Lastly, my most used palette. The Urban Decay Naked palette. There are three shades in this palette that I wear all the time. Half baked, smog, and darkhorse. There are matte, satin and glittery shades in the palette. They create my favourite bronze look. The shades in this palette are so buttery, and they blend like a dream. You can create so many looks with this palette, and it is £38.50.
